After thirtysomething years in the high school classroom, I bundled up
my French texts and embraced an early retirement. However, being idle is not my forte, so
within a few weeks, I was taking a variety of classes to expand my horizons. An avid
traveler, I’ve chaperoned many groups of students abroad and am a dedicated
francophile. . . this is a good thing! I delight in finding a "French
connection" in everything I hear, see, touch and taste. Thus, the idea of writing
articles which touch on other traveler’s stories as well as my own, has provided me
with a new "raison d’etre." Vive la France!
